Scoring the biggest victory of his racing career, Alan Adams won the 11-second $2,000 cash prize with his Payette-based `73 Vette.

Jim Evans `73 Vette stood on the bumper on several launches, including a weekend best of 9.91-134.94 to qualify 28th overall.

Twin Falls’ Kim Mason really danced the front wheels on his `40 Willys coupe, eventually qualifying at 10.18-129.57 (#43).

Driving his `65 Coronet, Matt Hiscox qualified 73rd at 10.72-124.34, but lost in the first round of the Armdrop to Troy Lind.

Driving the Annie Whiteley YNOT Dragster based out of Grand Junction, Colo., Eric Nyborg won the Quick 8 by dusting Chris Jaggers in the final with a very quick 7.06.

Mike Osmus (far side) just did stop Jim Dillon in the first round of the 10-second class in a 10.75 to a 10.71 (by Dillon) decision.

Fighting overheating issues late in eliminations, Mike Bann from Lewiston finished runner-up in the 11-second grouping.

Blair Grover from Idaho Falls drove his very sweet 5.4 L `08 Cobra Ford to a 12.02-114.30 (qualifying in the 129th spot).

Mark Keas and associates from NAPA Auto Parts were special guests at the Armdrop Live event.

Firebird’s Bob Towery presented the Preliminary Armdrop trophy (staged Friday afternoon) to Chuck Giordano from Winnemucca, Nev.

Under cloudy skies, Kent Gibbs (far side) defeated Rick Sayers in this second round pairing in the 10-second division.

Although Jim Tattersall (pictured) lost to Larry Hale in round one of the 10-second group he did come back in subsequent rounds to assist the Magic Valley racer (Hale) in the staging lanes during his five-round race win.

Cody Hiatt (near side) won his opening round Quick 8 race against the door car of Dan Lundmark.

Adam Adamson was part of a huge group of Idaho Falls racers who made the cross-state trip to race at Firebird.
