COLOFUL IMAGES FROM NAPA AUTO PARTS HALLOWEEN CLASSIC XIX

As most know, we love featuring outstanding photography from quite a cross-section of events on our website. It’s just plain fun getting to look back at many of our events from the perspective captured by an array of top-notch photographers.

We tried to feature a photo of every winner’s circle (taken) at this year’s Classic in our event photo montage. At the same time, we want to congratulate all of this year’s winners. A big tip of the hat is extended to the 2012 Classic Grand Champion Carl Youngstrom from Caldwell, for not only sweeping the Heavy class, but also scoring two additional round victories in the runoff, sweeping the grand championship title. Only eighteen other racers have won this feat dating back to the start of the Classic, including ten from the Gem State.

A tip of the hat also goes out to Dan Lafferty (Super Pro) and Utah’s Chriss Hall (Pro), and A.J. Armstrong (Sportsman) for earning coveted NHRA Idaho State Wally plaque titles. Additionally, congratulations to John Johnson Jr., (Sled/Bike), and Junior Wally winners: Casey Compton and Chandler Steen, each of which reached the Pepsi Winner’s Circle, too.

Thanks again to everyone who made the trip to Classic XIX. We are grateful to everyone’s support of our year-end family festival of fun. We hope you enjoy all the colorful photography from this year’s Halloween weekend.

We also want to say thanks to everyone on the Firebird staff (several of which are pictured within the montage), many of which started working on Monday and continued right on through all the finals on Sunday evening. As most would acknowledge, we have some of the hardest working and most dedicated staff on the drag racing planet. From the front gates to starting line, tech inspection/pit control to food service, safety team to souvenir store, tower to clean up crew and all points in between—thanks for everything.

In case you hadn’t heard, the dates are already set for what is promising to be quite the anniversary celebration for Classic XX. Mark your calendars today for October 9-13, 2013-you do not want to miss the 20th!

If by chance we don’t see you at this year’s Banquet on November 17th, we do wish everyone the very best during the off-season and look forward to seeing you when the track opens for its 46th season of NHRA Drag Racing in April of 2013.
