During the racing season Firebird offers a wide variety of classes and types of races for you to compete in, check below for one that suits your racing needs.
- Super Pro...All vehicles
running 7.00 - 12.99. Electronics are permitted, Open top bulb (full .5 tenths
tree)-CompuStart.
- Pro...All vehicles running
9.00- 13.99. Electronics are NOT permitted. Optional staging (full .5 tenths
tree)-CompuStart.
Dial-ins (as outlined above) are required to fall within these e.t. breaks.
- Sportsman...All vehicles
running 12.00 and slower, NO electronics permitted, Optional staging (full .5 tenths
tree)-CompuStart.
- Trophy...Exclusively for the
amateur, novice or first time competitor. Open to all vehicles running 9.00 or slower, NO
electronics permitted, optional staging (full .5 tenths tree)-CompuStart. Win your first
round of competition and take home a trophy. Plus an award is on the line for the overall
winner of the class.
- Second Chance bonus races...held during
selected Gold Cup events. This is a second chance category for all racers who don't survive
the first round. It has a separate entry fee and is run in two different categories, one for
electronics called "Box" and one without called "No Box".
- Junior Dragster... is offered in
two different racing divisions in eighth mile competition...Junior Lightning
(11.99-Quicker) and Junior Thunder (11.00-Slower). More

- Sled/Bike...this category is offered to all Sleds
and Motorcycles. The class is run off a split tree, either a pro .4 tree or a full .5 tree (no electronics).
- High School...the High School program is offered to
both schools and individuals with points on the line in the six-race series for cars or trucks 11.00
or slower. No electronics are permitted and a full .5 tenths tree is used.
- Alumni...the Alumni program is offered to high school
graduates who want to represent their alma Madre and chase for a year-end track championship.
The class is open to cars or trucks 10.00 and slower. No electronics are permitted and a full .5 tenths tree is used.
- Outlaw Street...the Outlaw Street category is open to any car or truck,
which runs on street-type tires and through the mufflers with a dial in of 10.00 or slower. All competitors run off the full
.5 tree and this is a non-electronics category.
- Nostalgia...the Nostalgia class is open to any entry 1972 or older,
running 14.99 or quicker at selected races throughout the season. All competitors run off the full .5 tree and this
is a non-electronics category.
- Street Truck... the Street Truck category is open to any type of
truck, which runs on street-type tires and through the mufflers with a dial in of 10.00 or slower. All competitors
run off the full .5 tree and this is a non-electronics category.
- Street Bike...the Street Bike Series is offered during the course
of the season on select Friday nights for all types of motorcycles (without wheelie bars). All competitors run
off the full .5 tree and this is a non-electronics category.
- Super Shifter...the Super Shifter Series is a class exclusively
for the manual shift cars and trucks with a dial in of 10.00 or slower. All competitors run off the full .5 tree
and this is a non-electronics category.
- Sport Compact...the Sport Compact Series is offered during
the course of the season on select Friday nights. All competitors run off the full .5 tree and this is a
non-electronics category.
- Club Challenge...the Club Challenge is open to all clubs.
It is divided into three different groups. The Silver Cup is for clubs with the potential of competing with
13-32 entrants at any given Club Challenge race. The Bronze Cup is for clubs with 7-12 entrants at any
give Club Challenge event. For smaller teams, a Copper Cup is offered (for clubs with 6 or fewer participants).
There are also a multitude of specialty races held during the season these include, Battle of the Brands
Show n Go, Hot Truck Nationals, Northwest Mopar Championships, Oldies but Goodies Drags, Street Nationals, Best
of Detroit and the Bike `n Sled Drags. Each of these races offer a number of special categories for the different
types of makes and models. Check the schedule section
