NHRA WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS AT BANDIMERE SPEEDWAY

We want to tip our hats to all five of the Team Firebird Junior point’s competitors and their families who made the long distance trek to Denver, Colorado, home of Bandimere Speedway and the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals.

Even though thunder storms and challenging weather affected the early part of the week long event, the Idaho racers showed real perseverance throughout the national event for Junior Dragster participants.

Congratulations to Alex Steen, who finished runner-up overall in the 13 year old division.

Both Clayton Steen and Doug Alwine were good enough to email us some of the results and news from the event.

We understand that Division 6 Jr. Thunder champion Chandler Steen made it all the way to the semi-finals in the 10 year old shootout. Paige Harris showed impressively, too, finishing runner-up in the 10.90 index race.

Both Casey Compton and Kaylessa Alwine represented the Firebird Team in fine fashion, too.

Clayton Steen wanted everyone at Firebird to know, “I just want to say thank you(!!) again to you and your family for giving us the opportunity to race at your facility. It has been a wonderful 6 years and my boys have learned a lot.”

To all those drivers who raced on behalf of Firebird and Division 6, we say congratulations for all your efforts. We look forward to seeing you and everyone else in the Thunder and Lightning classes throughout the balance of the 2011 Meadow Gold point’s chase.

We’d like to say thanks to special thanks to both Andrea Harris and Shauna for supplying us all the fun photos from the weekend.
