FUTURAMA FORTY SWEEPS GOLDMARK
TITLE AT ROADSTER SHOW
In front of a very strong crowd over the March 10th thru 13th weekend
at Expo Idaho, the 39th Annual Boise Roadster Show crowned quite a number of
champions during the award’s ceremonies on Sunday evening.
Presented by Les Schwab, the four-day Summit ISCA Championship event attracted
an outstanding field of exhibitors from eight states and Canada.
Doug Beattie from Vancouver, Wash., scored the Goldmark award, in addition to
the overall Best Custom title. A five-year undertaking better known as the “Futurama
Forty” was also the big winner of America’s Most Beautiful Custom at the
Sacramento Autorama in February.
Vic Asqueta from Nampa was selected for the 30th Master-Builder award. Asqueta
has been attending and participating at the Roadster Show dating back to 1976.
At this year’s show, Asqueta entered a beautifully finished `69 Chevelle and
displayed his upcoming `40 Ford coupe project.
We hope you enjoy a small slice of the color and excitement (including a wide
variety of photographs) taken at this year's show. Although we would’ve liked to
display every car in this year’s photo spread, it’s almost impossible to make
that happen. We’re very grateful to the photographers for all their efforts.
Several of the images below are just about like a “work of art”.
Rick Cate, Troy Cross, Gary and Jessica Himes, Ed Scott and members of the
Roadster Show staff get credit for each the Roadster Show photos below. Should
you wish to order any of these outstanding shots, be sure and drop us an email
and we’ll be glad to put you in touch (via email) with the appropriate
photographer.
