SMITH, COMPTON, SHUMWAY, HALL & ROBBINS SWEEP SECOND CLUB STOP

Friday night, May 9th, featured the biggest event in the eighteen year history of the Fairly Reliable Bob’s Club Challenge Series. All together, a record 251 racers participated on twenty-three different teams. Beautiful weather also greeted the big field with temperatures in the mid-60’s under sunny skys.

Alex Smith with the Kuna Draggers put together six round wins to score the Bracket #1 title. In his last two rounds of the night, both opponents redlighted, handing him the victory at 11.19-123.60 with his flamed `68 Firebird.

In Bracket #2, Liana Compton scored the title by downing Walt Templeton. The PSI Racing co-captain held off the Melba Outlaw Mustang with a 13.11-82.94 when Templeton got out of the groove and crossed up in the final round.

Other winners included: Justin Shumway in an all Hot Shots Bracket #3 final, Ron Hall for the Mopars Unlimited Bracket #4, and Jake Robbins for the Idaho Diesel Power club Bracket #5.
