LAMBERT, LANGAN, WITHERSPOON & PEDRAZA WIN AT CHEVY STARS EVENT
Steve
Lambert scored the Super Pro title at the 23rd edition of the Chevy Stars Show
`n Go at Firebird Raceway. The event took place on the hottest day of the racing
season as temperatures reached 92 degrees for a field of 210 participants at the
one-day event.
Driving his point's leading `88 Camaro, Lambert posted a perfect 8.56 on an 8.56
dial at 156.35 miles per hour to defeat a red-lighting Sean Shaffer in the
final. Driving his bright orange `66 Chevelle, Shaffer went red by a mere .002
of a second.
In the Pro class, Jeffrey Langan upended David Deming. Langan drove his `70
Challenger to a winning 11.50 (11.48 dial)-113.86 against a losing 11.01 (10.98
dial)-122.58, by the Deming `74 Nova.
In addition, both Joe Witherspoon (Sportsman) and Zak Pedraza (Snow/Bike) won
Gold Cup titles at day’s end.
Congratulations to all the show winners, including the Best of Show-Sweepstakes
winning bowtie of Valmarie Griffiths who not only showed her beautiful “My
Sharona” `69 Camaro, but also had Chris Jaggers race it to a late round finish
in the Camaro Shootout category.
