THURSDAY: PAUL SNELL AND BRIAN STIEF LEAD QUALIFYING AT
FIREBIRD CLASSIC
Brian Stief from Billings, Montana, recorded the event's top door
car performance to lead qualifying at the NAPA Halloween Classic XVI at
Firebird Raceway. Driving his `63 Corvette, Stief posted at 7.33 elapsed
time at 187.30 miles per hour to take the provisional pole in Full Bodied
qualifying.
In the Open Wheel class, Paul Snell, Sandy, Utah, ripped off a 6.89 at
196.67 mph with his rear-engined Dragster.
Top Gun qualifying will continue on Friday at
both 1 and 3 pm, along with an afternoon of bonus race action. Tickets on
Friday are $12 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12 and toddlers are free.
