DERRIC BARR AND LARRY LANCASTER GRAB KING TITLES
The 5th Annual American Classifieds Fall Swap Meet enjoyed
a perfect weather day as temperatures climbed into the upper 80’s under sun
filled skies. The event featured thirteen different eliminators and a strong
turnout of racers on the final Saturday of September. Two major runoffs were
contested during the event as the NHRA King of the Track (for an NHRA Wally
trophy) and King Kong showdowns took center-stage at day’s ends.
Congratulations to both Derric Barr and Larry Lancaster for pulling off the King
of the Track and Kong Kong titles, respectively. Super Pro winner Barr stopped
the Pro champion David Deming, while Lancaster, the victor in the 110 MPH &
Faster grouping bested Lisa Johnson, the champion of 103-109 MPH eliminator.
With one race remaining on the Boise Muffler/Auto Body Paint & Supply Gold Cup
Point’s Series (offering premium points at Classic XVI), the top-ranked racers
include Steve Lambert (Super Pro), Jerry Hodges (Pro), Joe Witherspoon
(Sportsman), Craig Jensen (Snow/Bike), Alex Steen (Jr. Lightning) and Michael
Jaggers (Jr. Thunder). It was a very exciting day of action at the last
“round-point” event of the season.
