NHRA DIVISION 6 AWARDS BANQUET
For the third time in the past four years, Firebird
Raceway was voted the NHRA Track of the Year during the
NHRA Banquet staged at the Doubletree Hotel near the SeaTac Airport in
Seattle. Firebird was also recognized (the 58-member team) for winning
the Northwest Track Team title at the Summit E.T.
Finals, the seventh such feat by the western Idaho/eastern Oregon based
team.
In addition, Jackie Alley collected her Lucas Oil World Championship
Jacket following her amazing season in Super Stock. At the same time she
was voted NHRA Division 6 Sportsman Driver of the Year and took home the
hardware for her Super Stock divisional crown, too. She attended the
banquet with her husband Mick and two daughters Courtney and Brittany.
Christopher Northup also attended the evening with his Dad Sam.
Christopher earned the Division 6 High School title from his big victory
over Labor Day weekend at the Summit E.T. Finals.
The Firebird facility was proud to also accept the award for the
National Dragster Media Award presented on behalf of National
Dragster editor Phil Burgess.

NHRA CHASSIS CERTIFICATION AT ROADSTER SHOW
For many, the Roadster Show presented by Les Schwab Tires, is a great
place to kick those winter blues. Set for March 8-11, at Expo Idaho, the
show helps to jump start the motorsport’s season with all kinds of
top-notch cars, trucks, bikes and much more.
At the same time, we will again host an NHRA chassis certification for
race cars (capable of running 9.99 or quicker). Conducted in the
Fairgrounds main spectator parking lot, NHRA certification member Kerry
Jorgensen will conduct the chassis day on Saturday, March 10th.
Advance registration is recommended by calling the Firebird offices at
208 938-8986 (or dropping us an email), so we can add your car to the
list.
We also plan to offer an opportunity to secure your NHRA Extended Tech
Inspection on the same day (and location) as the chassis certification.
Please notify us if you’d like to have us put your name on the sign-up
list.
