Several Firebird racers excelled in the chase for the
2012 Land of the Leaders Challenge. In fact, Glen Phillips came the
closest to winning the class title, narrowly falling to Brett Hinman
(from Lost Creek, Anaconda, Mont.) by a mere 3 points.
Other top Firebird finishers included Gordon Boven in Super Pro; Mark
Kidd in Pro; Rich Pedraza in Sled/Bike; and Alex Steen in Junior
Dragster.
Several tracks may have one final race to consummate their final points
in the four-way chase. The final event for Challenge at Firebird took
place on Saturday, July 28.
