Here is an image from one of the early 70's
Ignitor-World Championship Series events. For those who have followed the
sport for any length of time, you'll remember that both Top Fuel and AA/Funny
Car were contested at all the WCS meets in the 60's, 70's and up thru the early
80's before both classes were eliminated from the divisional fold. Prior to
that, the who's who of the sport competed at a number of our Ignitor events,
including "the Snake", "Blue Max", "the Ace",
"the Mongoose", "the King" and the list goes on and on.
What's unique about this shot is the wedge-cut Fueler of the "Action
Man" Kenney Goodell (far side). With limited success, Goodell ran in both
Top Fuel and Funny Car, before retiring the trendsetting dragster a year later and
concentrating all his efforts with his very recognizable & popular purple
and orange fuel coupe.
