Taking a step back in time, it was sure a thrill for many to see the Fuel Altered of car owner Richard Stannard and driver Ed Schwartz, which has be recreated in similar fashion to what Mike Sullivan ran during the 70's. The original Fiat appeared at Firebird in 1973 at a four-car match race with the "Nanook", "Bradford's" and "the Mob". Thanks to several members of the crew (and tuning advise by Mike Sullivan himself), Schwartz nailed down a 6.40 in qualifying and an incredible 6.23 in his victory of the "A" Fuel Altered Bonus Race. No question - the car was certainly one of the fan favorites at the 34th Pepsi Nightfire. Image by Nitrophoto
