
Taking a step back in time, it was sure a thrill
for many to see the Fuel Altered of car owner Richard Stannard and driver Ed
Schwartz, which has be recreated in similar fashion to what Mike Sullivan ran
during the 70's. The original Fiat appeared at Firebird in 1973 at a
four-car match race with the "Nanook", "Bradford's" and
"the Mob". Thanks to several members of the crew (and tuning advise
by Mike Sullivan himself), Schwartz nailed down a 6.40 in qualifying and an
incredible 6.23 in his victory of the "A" Fuel Altered Bonus Race.
No question - the car was certainly one of the fan favorites at the
