Canadian Les Davenport always enjoyed quite a bit of success in his trips to Firebird during the 70's with his Pacemaker Automotive Trans Am BB/FC. One of the real sharp engine men, Les really knew how to make power when he needed it and how to detune a combination when he didn't. A competitor at several Ignitor and Nightfire races, this pictures comes shortly after the BB/Funny Car had evolved from an injected on nitro ride (campaigned by the likes of Ken Veney, Dale Armstrong-winner of the first Nightfire 500 in `72 and others) to the supercharged - alcohol variety.
