Looking back some 32 years, this is the final
round of Top Fuel at the `74 Grand American race between Jerry "the
King" Ruth and the "Beck & Peets" Export A Dragster of
Gary Beck. Fast forward to 2006 and you will find Gary Beck lending
assistance to the Nostalgia Top Fuel ride of Rodeck & Cox known as "Cheetah
III" with driver Terry Cox at the wheel. Cox won the Ignitor Season
Opener this past May and will return in August for the 35th edition of
the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals on the 11th-13th. By all indications, we
may very well see the strongest field of nitro cars in the history of
Firebird, helping to make this anniversary race a truly memorable
