As most are well aware, the Fox Hunt is steeped in
tradition. It always attracts one of the biggest Gold Cup turnouts of the
season, in addition to a terrific line-up of Pro Stars. And it's no secret,
there are more gals, ladies, foxes (pictured), that attend this one event than
any other on Firebird's busy Spring, Summer & Fall schedule of events.
Over the years, we've certainly had quite a variety of professional entries,
too - including the Moffitt & Bratton Funny Car (pictured) of Don
Moffitt and Pat Bratton, which - at the time - was based out of the greater
Fremont, California-area. Don was the driver and Pat was the crew chief, both
of which enjoyed much success throughout the years of campaigning their
alcohol powered flopper. Today, Pat operates one of the valley's premiere
engine building shops located near the airport at 5417 Bond Street in Boise
(and title sponsor of the Outlaw Street point's class). For 2006,
the Pennzoil Fox Hunt presented by Jacksons Food Stores returns on June 23rd
and 24th. This will mark the 29th year of the event made famous by letting all
the ladies in attendance in for free (on the tower side of the raceway). If
you haven't made your plans just yet - do so today. We'll be featuring the
West Coast Top Sportsman Doorslammers in a 16-car qualified field, running
8.25 or quicker. In addition, the race will showcase Jets and the Jelly Belly
Wheelstander, too. Gold Cup action will be offered in Super Pro, Pro,
Sportsman, Pro Snow/Bike, Nostalgia, Super Cop and Trophy eliminators. In
addition, we are very excited to announce the all-new "Fox"
eliminator, an all ladies class, presented in part by the Naughty Girls race
club. Separate races in all classes will be contested on both Friday and
Saturday, June 23rd and 24th. Image of Moffitt & Bratton Funny Car
