Although this isn't really an old picture for
this week's Blast from the Past - it is a pretty significant photo. It's the
last shot taken at what some anticipated was the final Fox Hunt ever
staged at Firebird. Dan Gluch hit a .002, ran 8.24 on an 8.23 dial to defeat
an otherwise terrific .013, 7.75 on a 7.74 dial by Jeff Devey as the last
two Super Pro cars thundered down the 28th Memorial Weekend Fox Hunt in
2004. For Gluch, he learned that he would be the last Fox Hunt champion.
This stood true for 2005, but most heard the big news during the Award's
Banquet last November that the Fox Hunt would return in a big way in 2006.
If you haven't made plans just yet, do so today, `cause the 29th Famous Fox
Hunt returns bigger and better than ever on Friday and Saturday nights, June
23rd & 24th. The Gold Cup double header will headline each nights
racing. In addition, Jets will take centerstage under the lights on Saturday
night, along with the Idaho debut of the West Coast Top Sportsman (image provided
by Jason Ellis), a full, qualified 16-car doorslammer shootout - PLUS
THE ONE FEATURE UNIQUE TO THIS EVENT - ALL GIRLS FREE!!!
Tell your friends, your neighbors, your relations, racers, crews, and
anyone else that may like to attend, Firebird's the place to be on the final
weekend of June, `cause the `Hunt returns for one major weekend of fun!
