We have had quite a number of gals win a Bracketeer title at the Pepsi Nightfire over the years. One in particular was Steph Murkle pictured here. This photo is nearly twenty years old and was captured during a media luncheon at the Ramada Inn across from Boise State University. You can really tell the age of this photo when you notice that Jim Murphy's "Holly Smokes" AA/Funny Car is in the background. Today, Murphy is a four-time World AA/Fuel Dragster Champion and more recently, runner-up to Brett Harris at the March Meet. Steph, who drove Rod Page's `65 Pontiac GTO (brother-in-law), won the Bracketeer in 1988, along with Richard McFarland, Garnet Rose, and Ken Heard.
