It was like taking a step
back in time during the Pepsi Nightfire when none other
than Dale Pulde picked Firebird as the site to debut his
"War Eagle" AA/Funny Car. The Trans Am was built to help
resurrect or recreate a slice of yesteryear. Pulde ran
very strong during his open competition debut, but his
weekend came to early end during the second round of
racing with no oil pressure. Considering he was the
first Funny Car driver to race at Firebird nearly 41
years ago, it was sure a thrill to have him return to
Firebird in front of a big Nightfire audience.
