One of the most active members of the United Street Rod Association over the years has been Mel Eggleston from Boise. A long-time supporter of Firebird and the Boise Roadster Show, Mel attended the Spring Swap Meet handing out flyers for upcoming events and visiting with folks about today's automotive industry. The USRI has been active over the years helping to preserve automotive related hobby interests within the state of Idaho. In fact, they have been responsible for a number key developments in the legislature, which we certainly appreciate. Mel was also one of the first racers to compete at the Oldies But Goodies Drags nearly 30 years ago, so we thought it would be fitting to show off this original photo from the late Sam Callaway of his two-tone `40 Ford coupe racing down the quarter mile. Thanks Mel for everything you've done over the years in conjunction with all the other volunteers within the USRI organization. You have all definitely made a difference with your efforts.
