Since it's Street Machine Shootout week, we thought it would be fun to take a step back 15 years and look at Tim Ketlinski and his hot red Chevy II in action. This is from the `94 Street Nat's. Back in the day, every racer had to travel roughly a five mile course down the race track and through the pit area to prove their street worthiness (at a speed of 10 mph). At the same time, no car was allowed to be trailered into the event. Prior to qualifying, all cars had to be driven through the turnstiles. It was quite the site, each car proving their ability to be streetable. Thanks to Qualafab, the 22nd Annual Street Shootout is Saturday, June 27th, will award every Quick 8 qualifier an event t-shirts (a tradition dating back to the first event back in 1988). Plus all the champions will be awarded Jackets in the Unlimited Street, 10.50 index, 11.50 index, 12.50 index, and 13.50 index, plus the Unlimited Quick 8 Street Bike category.
