We've released a number of very cool pictures in the Blast from the Past section of our website over the years. But we've never had an opportunity to trace back to the roots (in a photograph) of where it all began in western Idaho, so here is a first. Thanks to the Rick Hale Collection, this photo is circa 1965 (September) from Gowen Field road out behind the Boise Airport. The Fueler is none other than the "Green Monster". What's quite amazing in this photo is not only all the people standing everywhere, but if you were to take a magnifying glass to the top right of the photo you'll see tanks, yes, army tanks and trucks by the hundreds scattered throughout the air base.
