The Club Challenge Series has long been one of Firebird most popular “end-of-work-week” events. Typically staged on six Friday nights every season, it annually attracts hundreds of racers competing on one of two dozen teams. Started back in 1991, club competition is open to just about anyone that might like to come give it a try. This picture is from one of the original events nearly two decades ago. Brian Burger is holding a certificate at left, and both Tim Douglas and what I believe is Aaron McCoy standing in front of his dad Gary, are holding the triple-pillar champion’s trophies. Best of all, the common denominator still holds true today, friends getting together with friends to compete as one big club or family.
