Here's the winner's circle photo from the `80 Ignitor
of the King's "Hawaiian" Bread Omni. Driven by Ron Colson,
this is one of many "Hawaiian" Funny Cars that Roland Leong
(owner, pictured center) raced at Firebird. The famed car
owned and tuner will return to the 39th Pepsi Nightfire with
one of the top ranked Funny Cars on the NHRA Hot Rod
Heritage tour co-owned by Ron Hodgson and driver/partner Tim
Boychuk, who recently visited victory lane at the Edmonton
IHRA national event and Vegas Heritage stop. The Troy Lee
Designs Firebird will be traveling from its home base in
Alberta to Firebird to compete in the open 16-car AA/Funny
Car class. Boychuk is currently 5th in the NHRA point's
standings.
