The Nightfire has had a number of professional
racers run the event over the years. This photo dates
back to the mid-80's, during an era when Firebird
featured a 16-car field of alcohol floppers, in addition
to fuel Funny Cars (note: John Force and Dale Pulde
pictured in the background). Paired up in this picture
are the many-time Nightfire winner Chuck Beal [far side]
next to the "Dream Weaver" of John Weaver and family.
You can really tell this is a nostalgic picture when you
look at the track signage that includes companies like:
Ace Realty, Elm's, Nendels, IB & T, KISS, Cal's and
other background features of the way Firebird originally
appeared. Pretty cool photo in our book.
