Long before elevated grandstands (or at least they were under construction as this photo reveals) were built on the tower side of the raceway, this photo features the alcohol Funny Cars of Mitch McDowell and Wayne Stoeckel’s “Boogie Man”. Dating back to the mid-90’s, this photo was taken by Robin Irwin who shared her scrapbook, which principally dates back to the 1990’s and early 2000 timeframe. Not exactly sure if this was an Ignitor or Nightfire event, but if we were guessin’, it almost looks like the Ignitor considering the hillside grass behind the old tower is quite green.
