We want to say thanks to Steve Rogers for sharing quite a number
of historical photographs from the early days of Firebird Raceway. He has a treasure
trove of special images that bring back quite a variety of memories. This one in particular
features a Pro Stock race between Mardy Maltais and the Yuill Bros., in a pair of Monza’s
that proved very popular during this time period. Dated from a late-70’s World Championship
Series meet, you can also catch a glimpse in the background of the ARMY AA/Funny Car
of the famed Don “the Snake” Prudhomme. We look forward to sharing quite a number
of shots Steve took in those early years. Thanks again to Steve for letting all of us relive
the good ol’ days of racing in the Treasure Valley.
