From the Rick Hale photo archives, this shot was
taken in the Firebird pit area circa 1969. The B Boys C/Dragster
is heading to lanes to make a run at the inaugural NHRA
World Championship Series meet. It’s interesting from
our perspective to see the fuel cell covered with some
type of blanket we’re guessin’ to keep the race gas cool.
The cars in the background are quite nifty, too.
