During the mid-to-late 70's, the legendary "Blue Max" was one of the all-time fan favorites at Firebird. With Raymond Beadle at the wheel, the "Blue Max" Plymouth Arrow was a popular winner of the Nightfire 500 as it was originally called. Prior to Beadle, it was none other than Richard Tharp (shoe) and Harry Schmidt (owner) who toured the country, which included northwest stops in Seattle (SIR), Puyallup, Portland (PIR) and Boise.
