Dale Pulde last competed at the Nightfire in 1986, winning the AA/Funny Car title with his "War Eagle" Buick. Pulde was also the first Funny Car driver to race at Firebird, competing behind the wheel of  the "Vicious Too" Camaro of Charlie Wilson in 1968
