Better known as "the King", Jerry Ruth,
and the "Green Elephant" of Jim Green, these two AA/Funny Cars were
undeniably two of the all-time top drag racers in Northwest history. Ruth won
a multitude of Firebird titles, including one weekend in the early 70's,
scoring both the AA/Fuel Dragster and Funny Car crowns at a Division
6 World Championship Series Meet. Additionally, Ruth won Funny Car at the `72
and `74 Ignitor. Green scored the Nightfire 500 title with Frank Hall at
the wheel in `73 (the 2nd NF) and Rob Bruins at the `77 Ignitor-World
Championship Series event. Both drivers will be inducted into the northwest
Hall of Fame in January in Seattle.
