This had to be one of the coolest Altered's of the
70's at Firebird. Brothers Keith (driver) and Ken (crew chief) Grondahl ran
this tough runnin' B/Altered Mustang at the `74 Grand American race in
Modified eliminator. Members of the long-time Heap Herders club (check the
club plaque on the tail end) this dude not only had no side or rear (plexi)
glass, but it also had one oversized set of rear tires to help keep the power
down to the ground. The Mustang was called "Hoss Style" and was one
bad hombre. Today, Ken's son Scott competes from time-to-time on either a Bike
or a Sled in the Pro Snow/Bike class. Rich Carlson photo
