Check out this early Nightfire 500 (most likely 1978) image featuring the famed Funny Car fire-up leading up to the opening round of Chicago-style eliminations. If you look closely from left to right you'll see the likes of: John "Brute" Force, Ed "the Ace" McCulloch, Raymond Beadle's "Blue Max", "Lil John" Lombardo, "240 Gordie" Bonin, Twig Zeigler, Chuck Byrd and others. To say the least, it was quite a sight to see in person.
