Don "the Snake" Prudhomme first raced at Firebird in 1969. In `74, he brought his quite famous "Army" Funny Car to compete against a stout field of cars at the AHRA Grand American stop. Prudhomme won the event and is joined by Bill New, Miss Firebird and the late-AHRA founder/president Jim Tice (right) in this winner's circle presentation.
