Bringing four entries into the Ignitor
race, John Dalrymple's colorful Super Gas ride was selected for the
event's Best Appearing Car. |

It was good to have the veteran Jim Warter
return to the Ignitor. Unfortunately a late light (.107) cost him
in his opening round race against Jeff Lane in Comp. |

Division 7 gun Jim Momjian qualified 16th
in Top Sportsman and fell in round one to Roger Hall. |

Jon Percy competed in both Stock
(pictured) and Super Stock. He landed in the 31st spot in Stock (A/SA)
at 10.82 and 2nd in Super Stock at 8.98 (SS/AA), which was roughly a
half a tenth off the national record. |

Best Engineered, the two zoomy Mustang's of Frank & Kurtis Tamez
were selected for the special award. |

Oklahoma's Troy Green captured the top
spot in qualifying at 5.90, but fell in the final round against Mike
McLennan. |

James Generalao Jr. brought his
"Impatient" Fuel Altered to compete at the Ignitor. |

Todd "Shake" Hoerner belted out
a 6.95-202.52 in Thursday testing with his brand new GTO, but couldn't
get the car to stop shaking during qualifying and eliminations. |

Greg Daebelliehn and Ricky Ruiz duked it
out on Saturday in a 6.95 to 6.97 Fuel Altered duel. |

The Preszler family brought two cars to
compete at the Ignitor, one in Top Dragster, the other in Super Gas.
Special thanks to their construction firm for joining marketing
forces with Firebird in 2007. |

Stan & Carol Leerkamp came to their
first Firebird World Championship Series in 1971. Today they are
competing in Top Dragster with their very consistent and tastefully
painted Mullis ride. |

Driving the Hughes Performance `02
Corvette, Kevin Kleineweber (who finished 5th in the World in `06) lost
a nail-biter in round one of Super Gas, running 10.197 (10.20 index)
against Mike Coltrin. |
