 Randy Johnson lost a close third round duel with Mike Willoughby in Top Sportsman. Johnson hit a .030, ran 7.73 (7.72 dial), but the Hughes Cavalier finished just a tick ahead, with a .025, 7.23 (7.22 dial). |
 Leeland King was defeated in the second round against Danny Patridge in Sportsman Motorcycle. |
 Eventual Comp runner-up Bob Marshall unloaded a monster B/A run in the second round against Jeff Lane. The Langley, B.C., racer ripped off a refactored 7.04 (running to within .02 of the national mark of 7.02!). |
 Montana's Clint Sallee flew to a high altitude 6.83 (against Lucky Snyder in the semi's) in his B/Dragster. The run refactors to a booming 6.66 (national record is 6.60). |
