Firebird announcer Scott New (green shirt) visited with Frank Mazi from Cleveland, who spent many years racing his Comp eliminator Opel GT on the eastern side of the country.
When's the last time you saw a Nitro Funny Car roll through the drive-up window at a Carl's Jr.? How `bout Friday during lunch hour on his way to the Nightfire weekend. Jack Harris ordered enough burgers to satisfy his entire crew and then some. Special thanks to Carl's for their marketing support of the raceway each season.
Danny Pisano is the man behind today's Pisano & Matsubara AA/Funny Car.
Driving his colorful Pro Modified Camaro, Joe Delahay qualified second and was a semi-finalist.
The "Nitro Thunder" Fuel Dragster of Brett Harris ran strong, but fell in the opening round to eventual champ Howard Haight on a holeshot.
