Bay area photographer Jason Ellis certainly has a feel for the sport of Drag Racing. Just look at any of his photos over the past few years at Firebird or any other race track he attends and they are spot on. Like many who attend the Pepsi Nightfire each year, he sets his sights high to pull off all the drama and excitment from Firebird's granddadday, especially under the lights on Friday thru Sunday nights. And again in `07, he really nailed a number of beauties. Judge for yourself and we think most of you will agree he is one of the very best in the industry today. If you'd like to see more of his cool stuff, just buzz over to www.dragmonkey.com.

The Pro Modified final pitted "blown" (Trevor Lowe) vs. "nitrous" (Dennis Radford). Misfortune would strike for the Radford team who endured a nasty nitrous backfire enabling Lowe to win his first Nightfire title.

Adam Sorokin was the favorite going to the final after a 5.85 in the semi's, but Howard Haight would prevail (far side) with the "Fugowie" Top Fueler.

Driving the Rich Howell `32 Ford Altered, Greg Uffens would stop Greg Daebelliehn in the Fuel Altered final.

Jack Harris (near lane) stopped the Pisano & Matsubara Vega in the AA/Funny Car final.

Coming all the way from Illinois, Tim Cullinan drove the famed Tom Motry "Drastic Plastic" Fuel Altered to the third spot in qualifying, but exploded a supercharged in the lights on his second qualifying run.

Fans just love the nitro warm-up of the Rick McGee "Razmataz" Fuel Dragster in the Pro Pits.

The Vogt brothers brought one of their two Pro Modifieds from Saskatoon, which qualified in the 8-car field.

Jim Murphy nailed four 5-second runs during the Nightfire (including a jaw dropping 5.83 on Saturday night), but fell in the semi's to Adam Sorokin (who ripped off a 5.85).

Keith Korecki just missed making the tough 8-car Pro Modified field presented by www.promodsource.com.

Pocketing the $5,000 Bracketeer winner's prize on Sunday night, Mark Kidd held off Paul Snell for the big payday.

Troy Pecht won $1,500 on Friday night in Pro eliminator with his wheels-up Camaro.

Ripping into the 6.20's, Jeff "Killah" Utterback did a fine job driving the Pisano & Matsubara Vega.

Larry Hale (far lane) stopped Californian Larry Gilley, the `06 Pro champ, to win the overall National Dragster Challenge presented by Meridian Automotive & Machine.
