ROADSTER SHOW JUST AROUND THE CORNER, `08 SCHEDULES SET TO RELEASE

The 2008 Firebird Track Schedules have just about hit the printing press and will be arriving in your mail box in the very near future. And by all accounts, the new brochures are one of the best we’ve ever produced. We just couldn’t be any more excited to unveil one of the most dynamic and energetic schedules in track history.

The schedule is chock full of events headlined by the grand daddy of `em—the Pepsi Nightfire Nationals. The Nightfire returns this August for the 37th year and will be a key stop in the inaugural season of the NHRA Heritage Racing Series. From the day the Nightfire ended in `07, we have been steadfastly putting the ingredients together for what is shaping up to be one of the truly great racing events in track history. From the Bracketeers to the AA/Fuel Dragster showdown (and all categories in between), we are extra busy putting everything together for our “signature racing spectacle” this August.

Many familiar and highly popular races return to the Firebird racing docket ranging from the six-race Club Challenge Series to the High School & Alumni Championships starting in May and wrapping up in September.

And for the first-time in several years, the season opening Ignitor re-locates to a terrific new April weekend, when the first stop in the Division 6 Lucas Oil Drag Race Series returns to the longest running major drag racing event in the Pacific Northwest. One thing is for certain—the spring-like conditions will no doubt open back up the NHRA National Record Blaster club, a real hit for all the Stock, Super Stock and Comp fraternity this April. Additionally, the sights and sounds of nitro-methane will once again be an integral part of the weekend, a staple of the Ignitor dating back to when Don Prudhomme won the first event in 1971.

The schedule will close with a bang, too, as the 15th Anniversary of the NAPA Halloween Classic presented by Peterson Toyota returns on October 15-19.

Keep your eyes peeled on your mailboxes, `cause there’s all kinds of other news and info to break in our colorful new schedule brochures, which are set for release towards the middle/latter part of February.

And if you haven’t planned to join us this March at the Boise Roadster Show presented by Les Schwab Tires, then you’d best mark your calendars for March 6th-9th, `cause this year’s show is going to be one amazing happening.

Plain and simple, the line-up of feature and competitive entrants coming to Boise, is positively one of the best ever.

Hours of the show are: 4 pm to 10 pm, Thursday, 3 pm to 10 pm, Friday, 11 am to 10 pm, Saturday, and 11 am to 7 pm, Sunday.

Be sure and stop by the Firebird booth at the show, too—we certainly look forward to visiting with everyone who plans to attend the official blast-off to the motorsport’s calendar this March. And should your race car need a chassis certification—please give our office (938-8986) a shout, so we can get your name on the list to be tagged (or re-tagged) on Saturday, March 8th, in the Fairground main parking lot.

And before we sign off for this long overdue “What’s New” update, we just wanted to let everyone know that we’ll be bringing more and more announcements in the weeks to follow.

With the new season just around the corner (kicking off with the Spring Swap Meet…hint, hint: start getting your swap treasures together to sell & Warm Up on April 12th), we couldn’t be any more thrilled than we are right now for drag racing to return in less than two months.
